The Center for Black Studies is located in South Hall 4603.  Our total assigned square footage is 1,446.  We occupy a total of seven offices designated to accommodate the current staff.  While we have changed our use of some of our offices, the assigned square footage remains the same.  One of our other offices has been re-assigned for multiple uses (visiting professor, associate director, resource faculty and staff).  Room 4502, formerly an academic office, was used last year as a student lounge.

Student Lounge

The student lounge represented one of the Center's outreach activities to support students at UCSB and to physically bring them to the Center. The Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs donated two computers and the room was wired to permit internet/email access.
