Proposal
Development Services
Advance consultations
We
can review and discuss your proposal
according to individual agency
emphases,
and talk with you about ways to make
it more competitive. We’ll
help inform you of opportunities
for faculty to learn strategies
for successful proposal writing,
and make you aware of funding agencies’ regional
and national meetings, workshops,
and conferences, as well as funding
such as UC Opportunity Grants, which
provide conference funds to promote
dialogue between University and industry
communities. We will also refer you
to your Sponsored Projects team in
the
Office
of Research
as appropriate.
Proposal draft review
As
a service especially suited to
junior faculty and multidisciplinary
teams, we are happy to review
drafts of pre-proposal and proposal
project summaries or project
descriptions as time permits.
We will then offer suggestions
for ways to refine or further
develop the material and discuss
our comments with you. If you
plan to send Research Development
a summary statement or project
description,
please
contact Carla Whitacre, Director
of Research Development, at x3925
or whitacre@research.ucsb.edu
Templates for institutional information Most proposals require a statement
about UCSB’s research climate
and how research is integrated
with education. We are developing
descriptions that may be useful
as proposal development progresses.
