SPO will provide you with a temporary password, once the account is set-up.


 

Upon sending your request above, please contact your Sponsored Projects Analyst and provide your SSN. If you are unsure of which Sponsored Projects Analyst assists your department, please visit: http://www.research.ucsb.edu/s_p/spo_roles_responsibilities.shtml

Once your account has been created,, the Sponsored Projects Analyst will e-mail you with a confirmation e-mail containing your username and temporary password.

*Unfortunately we, the Office of Research cannot assign a Permanent PASSWORD.  Once you are setup in Fastlane, please log on to Fastlane  You will be asked to change the temporary password to a permanent password.  This is for security reasons. It must consist of at least one alphabetical & numerical digit and one symbol, and it can be 6 - 20 digits long.

NSF Reset Password:

If you need to reset a password, please do the following: Click on the Fastlane website:  https://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/fastlane.jsp

  • Select Proposals, Awards and Status
  • Under the PI/Co-PI Log-In enter the Last name of the PI, then the SSN# and select the underlined Forgot Password?

The Fastlane system will change to a new page in which the PI will re-enter their Last Name, SSN# and their email address.  The Fastlane system will send the PI a new temporary password.  The PI can then log back into Fastlane and create their own password.
